About the Crew
Captains are licensed by the United States Coast Guard and members of the American Professional Captains Association.
Mighty Heron Charters is owned and operated by the husband and wife team of Miss Debwa and Capt. Mike. (Capt. Mike punched above his weight when Miss Deb agreed to marry him).
Capt. Mike
Captain Mike is the primary guide, and along with his wife, Miss Deb, co-owner of Mighty Heron Charters.
Capt. Mike (USCG Lic. #2759396) is a native of Cape May and Atlantic Counties. He has been fishing the waters around Ocean City - from the back creeks to the canyons - for over 45 years. He has been a licensed captain and working full-time in the industry since 2006. Sure, catching the big ones is a passion but he is just as happy when he helps a kid catch their first fish and they break out in their happy dance.

He shares his knowledge of fishing by presenting seminars on back bay flounder and striped bass fishing, on behalf of "The Fisherman" magazine.

Capt. Mike is a certified instructor for the New Jersey safe boating course and a certified National Boating Safety Council on-water safety educator.
He loves Philly sports teams and Chelsea F.C. He can sometimes be found trying to strike up a friendship with a bird or staring at a tree for hours. His favorite pasttime is being criticized by Capt. Gene.
Kim M., Booking Coordinator
When you call to book a trip or have questions, Kim is usually the first person you speak to on the phone and is very helpful. She is the absolute glue behind the scenes and when she speaks, Capt. Mike listens. She is going into her 4th season as our coordinator.

She is the mother of Mate Colby, Webmaster Colin, and stepmother of Mate Logan.

She is happily retired from teaching and is also a travel advisor. Find her travel agency here.
